Multi media solutions are as diverse as they are technologically baffling so why not let Acrobat demystify the whole process. However they are delivered, all formats require well-crafted programmes, thereafter the delivery format is as diverse as your imagination. We have produced interactive CDs and DVDs, downloadable programmes, intranet programmes, live action web site inserts, web-casting, company TV channels - the list is endless.

DVD
Since 1999 DVD has experienced massive growth. It has now replaced VHS as the most popular delivery format for programmes. In the same period Acrobat Television’s own expertise has grown to such an extent that virtually the whole of our output ends up on a DVD that has been fully produced – in house.
We are expert in scripting and designing the programmes to maximise the presentation potential that DVD has to offer. We can produce multiple language versions or different language subtitles, provide menus with links to several programmes or chapters all on the same disc. You can even add print files of your brochures or training manuals.

The process of producing a DVD goes through a number of stages:

• Programme design

• Encoding

• Authoring

• Duplication


Programme design
Because of the features available on a DVD it is preferable to consider these options at the edit stage of a production. For example, if a programme logically breaks down into chapters it is a good idea to have a clean audio and picture break at the chapter points; or there might be different scenarios in a multiple choice situation. If multiple languages are to be used it should be cut to accommodate the ‘longest’ language and it may be necessary to keep the audio tracks split. Because we can oversee the project from start to finish it ensures a polished end product.

Encoding
Programmes have to be converted to Mpeg2 format for use on DVDs. Done properly the resultant picture quality is stunning and at Acrobat we use our state-of-the-art, real-time capture boards, which is as good as it gets.
We can also convert your video images to any of the other commonly used codecs that might be required for use on the Web, CD or other new media.

DVD Authoring
Using Sonic professional software, we offer DVD authoring which makes the best use of currently available technology. We have a graphic design service for the menus, disc faces and sleeves. This, combined with a complete range of editing and capture technology, allows us to tailor-make DVD’s to suit virtually any customer requirement.

DVD Duplication - Low volume
Our own CD and DVD -R and +R duplication banks can provide small to medium runs (normally quantities up to 1,000), competitively and with extremely short lead times.
We also offer a full face-print and packaging design and production service. Our low volume expertise means that even individual DVDs can be professionally printed and packaged so that, however small the quantity, your presentations to clients will look impressive.

DVD Replication - High volume
Because we distribute so many of our own programmes on DVD our extensive purchasing power means we are ideally placed to reproduce discs at extremely competitive rates. For runs of five hundred to often hundreds of thousands we replicate as DVD Video. This includes full colour face printing and a huge range of packaging options.
